问:What technology does Sensormatic use to and what value does it actually bring?
先讯美资运用哪些技术为零售商带来了价值?带来哪些价值?
Tony: So Sensormatic has three different technologies that we’re showcasing here. First is our loss prevention technology which protects employees in store and that includes our Electronic Article Surveillance video solutions with artificial intelligence.
先讯美资在本次展会现场展示了三项不同的技术。首先是我们的门店防损技术,运用人工智能赋能的电子商品防盗解决方案,能够保障店内的商品安全。
And the company is number one in the world in terms of these technologies and we’ve been around sixty years. We work with all the world’s largest retailers, such as Walmart,Inditex,every major retailers around the world. We work with in all multiple of the technology.
在这类技术领域,公司位居全球第一,至今已拥60年发展历程。我们与全球很多大型零售商合作,包括沃尔玛、西班牙Inditex集团(Zara母公司)等全球各大零售企业,并且为他们提供多种技术方案。
Right, so,those are all customers,Nike,another one is Adidas. We work with all the global brands. So loss prevention is one of our solutions ,the other one is what we call inventory intelligence which uses RFID technology.

In our RFID ,we work with many again global retailers like Victoria Secret, PVH, Inditex that we deploy our RFID around the world.

And in those scenarios, we provide both the readers that go at exit to read our RFID that you see here and we also provide labels and tags.

With our RFID we’ve introduced two brand new technologies including here. One is a brand new RFID label that you sew into the garment.

So that’s the second business. This is what both loss prevention and inventory are the two business.The third one is called traffic or ShopperTrak analytics.
这就是我们的第二项业务。防损与库存管理正是我们的两大核心业务。第三项业务被称为客流分析,或称购物者行为追踪分析。
And the ShopperTrak analytics is number one in the world. We track 40 bilion customer entrances and exits around the world in stores around the world.
而且我们的购物者轨迹分析系统在全球处于领先地位。我们在全球范围内追踪四百亿人次顾客进出门店的数据。
So, with our three business in summary we prevent people from stealing with our loss prevention technology.

That’s then we keep track of accurate inventory. So you have the right products in stock for the sale.
其次,我们实现精准库存追踪,从而确保库存中有适销对路的商品。
And then with the third business ShopperTrak we improve operations by making sure the right labor is available in the store to help the consumer buy more .
而在第三项业务——购物者轨迹分析方面,我们通过确保门店配备合适的人力,助力消费者完成更多购买,从而优化门店运营效率。
Yeah ,so those are our three business. So it increased overall stores operational efficiency , inventory accuracy and theft protection safety.

There’s many people that provide these products.Our biggest strength is we can do it anywhere in the world. So,Zara for example ,we support in 90 countries around the world.
提供这类产品的厂商有很多。我们最大的优势在于能够在全球任何地方提供服务。以Zara为例,我们为其在全90个国家的业务提供支持。
问:Why the local customers chose you right ?

Tony:Part of it is a global standard,we work with many global retailers that required a global standard and they want to have the similar application around the world.

China is also the factory of the world and we apply billions of labels to products from China that go to the rest of the world to source tagging.

All kinds of different versions so that's why they work with us on a global scale and the ability.

For Chinese-based retailers that want to expand to the world.We already have all that expertise and today a lot of Chinese Retailers are going to the world.We are ready to support.

For Sensormatic, China is a very very important market. All of greater China and Asia are very very important market. We will keep investing in China.

问:Please talk about the future of retail innovation. How can technological transformation make people's lives better, more convenient and more efficient?
谈一谈零售创新的未来?技术变革如何让人们的生活更美好、更方便、更快捷?
Tony:I think that links to what your topic today,you know ,the question is based on the innovative solution. We are providing how does it impacts normal people's lives. What experience we're going to give to normal consumers.
So all the technology that we deliver first of all ,makes employees safer,makes customer safer inside the store ,most important.
Number two,if we increase profitability for the retailer with our solution through greater inventory to much more optimal inventory.
我认为这与今天的大会的主题息息相关,要知道,这个问题的核心正是创新解决方案。我们所提供的技术,究竟如何影响普通人的日常生活?我们又将为普通消费者带来怎样的消费体验?
所以,我们所推出的所有技术,首要一点,是让门店内的员工更安全、顾客更安全,这一点最为重要。
其次,通过我们的解决方案优化库存管理、实现更合理的库存配置,帮助零售商提升盈利能力。
There are retailers that we have really fast approaches to market where for example they limit the number of products on the shelf because they want to create scarcity.
我们与部分零售商合作时采用了非常快速的上市方案,比如,他们会限制货架上的商品陈列数量,以此营造稀缺效应。
And to do that you need to have a very accurate inventory to know where the inventory is and stock quickly the products that are being sold.
而要做到这一点,就必须拥有极为精准的库存管理系统,清楚掌握库存位置,并对已售出商品进行快速补货。
And to me, stores especially are becoming even more important. I know online and e-commerce but stores are becoming still very important and so for us we can keep store associates to make stores more profitable.That's what I talked about today.
在我看来,实体门店正变得愈发重要。虽然线上电商发展迅猛,但门店的地位依然举足轻重。因此,我们可以通过赋能门店员工,让门店创造更高的盈利。这也是我今天所分享的核心内容。
And then for online,the best retailers have figured out not to build separate distribution centers, but to use a store the closest store to the customer buying as the distribution center.
而在线上零售方面,顶尖零售商已经摸索出一套模式:不再单独建造配送中心,而是把距离消费者最近的门店当作配送中心来使用。
And to do that you need a very accurate inventory so the worst thing you can do.
The worst thing you can do is if somebody orders something online and it's not available.
而要实现这一点,就需要极为精准的库存管理,因为最糟糕的情况莫过于——顾客在网上下单后,却发现商品无货可发。
And the concept of that's evolved to is called pick to the last item. So instead of discounting products that are not selling you can make them available anywhere in the world. You can pick to the last item without discounting.
而这一模式如今已发展成为“精准拣选至最后一件商品”的理念。不必再对滞销商品打折处理,而是可以让这些商品在全球任何地方实现销售。无需降价,就能将库存商品拣选售罄。
问:What do you see about China Retail's future?
您对中国零售的未来有什么看法?
Tony:I think China's got an amazing future.I think China is the laboratory for Retail.
中国是零售行业的实验室,(有)很多新的东西。
Frankly I've been inspired. I've written a lot about China and the growth of Retail China singles day. The growth of Alibaba.com,jd.com. There are amazing models that live streaming so popular here. Not in the rest of the world,China is setting the trend for the rest of the world.
我一直关注中国的零售发展,阿里巴巴、京东,以及双11,这些让我感觉到非常惊讶,中国有这么多新的东西,中国会引领零售未来的新潮流。
So for me, China is a place to get inspired on what's possible. It'll be different in other parts of the world because of a culture. But China in a lot of ways is setting the trends including with artificial intelligence.
所以对我而言,中国是一个能让人激发无限可能、获得灵感的地方。由于文化差异,世界其他地区的发展会有所不同。但中国在很多方面都在引领潮流,其中就包括人工智能领域。
问: So Sensormatic is also doing something to develop innovative solutions to address China Retail market.
公司有没有为了适应中国零售的发展而做出的一些解决方案呢?
Tony:Yes,We both localize and globalize. we look at both.
我们除了全球化,我们同时也本地化,我们在中国也有很多研发的制造,我们有工厂在生产。
And some of the technology developed in China go to the rest of the world that was developed in China. But that'll go to the rest of the world so it's localize and globalize.
部分在中国研发的技术正在走向全球。这些源自中国的技术,在实现本土化适配的同时,也完成了全球化推广。
My view is China is getting a bright future. It's nice to see Chinese brands now going to the world.
在我看来,中国前景光明。如今看到中国品牌走向世界,令人欣喜。
