To encourage the growth of highly-skilled talents, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, recently released incentives for award-winning highly-skilled talents.
Award-winning highly-skilled talents refer to highly-skilled talents who represent Xi'an or are recommended by Xi'an to win the ranking or honorary title in international and domestic vocational competitions.
Individuals or groups on behalf of or recommended by the city to win the WorldSkills Competition's gold, silver, bronze, or outstanding awards will be rewarded 500,000 yuan ($77,119.05), 300,000 yuan, 200,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan, respectively.
An award of up to 500,000 yuan will be granted to those individuals or groups that have won the Chinese Skills Awards or are named National Technical Experts.
Individuals or groups that have ranked in the top three in national first-class skills competitions will be awarded 300,000 yuan, 200,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan, respectively.
Those that have won fourth to sixth place will receive an award of 50,000 yuan.
An award of 100,000 yuan will be given to those that have ranked in the top three in national second-class skills competitions.
Rewarded highly-skilled talents will be included in the management of the Xi'an model workers reserve team, and priority will be given to those talents' application and selection of model workers.
Companies or units that they work for should give priority to helping them with living difficulties such as the separation of spouses and children enrolling in school, as well as housing and office difficulties.
