In the first half of this year, Northwest China's Shaanxi province saw a year-on-year increase of 10.52 percent in foreign investment in actual use, totaling to $5.27 billion and accounting for 55.71 percent of the annual target.
During this period, a total of 37 countries and regions around the world invested in Shaanxi. The foreign investment in actual use from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP member states saw rapid growth, reaching $627 million and $1.99 billion, respectively.
The manufacturing industry played a central role, and the leasing and business service industries developed rapidly.
Shaanxi's manufacturing industry actually utilized $2.24 billion in foreign capital, accounting for 42.52 percent of the provincial total. The actual use of foreign capital in the service industry amounted to $1.31 billion, accounting for 24.92 percent of the total.
A total of 144 new foreign-invested enterprises set up operations in the province, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, including 14 in the manufacturing industry and 55 in the service industry.
